Yeah, I was trying to edit. Once I realized I couldn't do what I wanted it wouldn't let me out without posting again. If you look closely you should be able to see a minor difference in the 2 postings...the second has the url in bold.

Anyway, I hope that the 'edit' function comes along soon. As well as 'quote'...the above was done by hand...

Well shut my mouth, I see both functions are now available..

Find some quiet time. Have a seat and play it loud.

Concept album from Jack Lancaster and Robin Lumley - Marscape. I'll be posting more from a later iteration of this band. (don't say I didn't warn you).

all down here BTW :)
I figured as much. We don't get to hear much from down-under. A few bands broke out and made it this far from home. There's a little band called AC/DC that seems to have done well for themselves.

Most of my exposure is to British and American bands/ musicians.

A little follow-up from my last post. Lancaster/Lumley put together a solid line-up of musicians. Brand X.

This was a great thread on the old site and it's a great thread here.

I've hesitated to chime in for fear that musical tastes are perilously close to the icebergs of religion and politics.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of purely automotive delight out there in the rock world and here are a couple samples.
Audio only here, but no YouTube ads or distractors:

Jeff Beck is a certified car nut. He has a bunch of American cars. A lot of his songs have automotive themes as well. Here's a fun one.

I don't know enough of the work of Blue Oyster Cult to warrant the label of fan but they contributed a nifty gem of a song to the soundtrack of the 1981 animated film "Heavy Metal" called "Veteran of the Psychic Wars". A few years ago I discovered an eight-minute live rendition:

Two years on <Pause> is going to burn something up.
Let's hit <Play> again.

The mention of Pete Townshend makes me think of a song that demonstrates one thing that I think he does a little differently than most other synthesizer players/composers. Townshend's keyboard patterns, while initially seeming programmed, predictable and monotonous, usually evolve slowly and subtly. The intro to "Baba O'Riley" is a good example of this, but for something a little less known I'll cite "Eminence Front", track 6 from side 1 of The Who's 1982 album "It's Hard":
