This is the only photo I have of the 1972 Dodge Colt which my parents
purchased new from Stew Hansen's Dodge City in Des Moines.
Being six years old or so when it was purchased, I have no recollection of the car.
They didn't keep it very long, maybe a year or two.
My father has never had much good to say about this car,
though I can't pin him down on exactly why he derides it.
Fit and finish? Squeaks and rattles? The 2-speed Borg Warner A/T?
I don't know. I'm mystified that he went on to buy a new '78 sedan,
then a slightly used '78 coupe, then a 1984 hatchback.

Just this past year my father rediscovered the window sticker in his files.

Any thoughts on why the port of entry for this car from Japan
was Saint John's, New Brunswick instead of the West coast?

Probably the ship took the western route. Stay relatively near land for resupply, port stops, in case of emergencies vs crossing the pacific.
