Hello from Lisbon-Portugal

Post by CarlosCarvalho » Sun Apr 26, 2020 10:02 am

Hey guys my name is Carlos, im from Lisbon (Portugal) and i am a lucky owner of two 73 Mitsubishi Colt Galant (Dodge Colt).
It was very difficult to find them here in Europe, but after a few years searching i have them.
I found the sedan first a couple of years ago and this year finally the 2Dr Hardtop.
The restoration of the 2Dr Hardtop is on progress (almost finished), and i promise i will post the photos (before/after) later, when they are ready, for now just one or two pics like they were when i found them, real bad shape.
I am having very difficulties finding a few parts needed and i hope you guys can help me with it.
Thanks for accepting me in guys.
Carlos.

Welcome, Carlos. I'm glad you found us.
Did you have to go outside of Portugal to find these two Colts?
I'm curious in which country each of them was originally sold.
Good luck, and I look forward to reading your progress.

Thanks mitsuman.

The white sedan was sold originally in 74 in Africa, Mozambique . The red 2Dr sold also in 74 in Africa in Angola, they were both imported almost new to Portugal in 76. Mozambique and Angola were Portuguese colonies.
I bought them here in the Northeast of Portugal.
I found a lot of Colt Galants in Philippines, and quite cheap, but its almost impossible to bring them to Portugal, its very expensive unfortunately.
I found this great forum looking for parts hehehehehe.

Very cool, and cool history on the cars. These things have become quite rare in the united states as well. Looking forward to your restoration. I think there are a few guys selling gen 1 parts on the for sale section right now, they may be able to help you
